Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest Honoured with Prestigious Awards
Our member, the Kempinski Hotel Corvinus Budapest has recently received distinguished accolades.
Its wellness area, Kempinski The Spa, was awarded the 2025 World Spa Award in the "Best Hotel Spa in Hungary" category. The 700-suite also won the Klasszis TopDesign 2025 design competition in the "Klasszis TopDesign Guest Room, Suite of the Year - Capital City 2025" category.
Kempinski The Spa received a new design in the autumn of 2023, and simultaneously, its spa concept and treatments were completely revamped.
Inspired by travel and well-being, the revitalised space now alludes to notions of travel and self-at-peace, while the treatments are crafted to suit guests’ individual needs. The signature ‘The Hungary Holistic’ treatment based on Hungarian mud, which yields mineral, mechanical and thermal effects, remains an essential part of the spa journeys. Several treatments and facials are inspired by the ancient Irish tradition of seaweed bathing using the VOYA (a derivative of ‘Voyage’) product line, the Irish family-owned and -run wellness company.
The world’s first certified organic-seaweed-based skincare product, VOYA and its rare expertise offer highly personalised treatments, drawing on the 300-year-old history of Ireland’s North-West Coast’s indigenous seaweed bathhouses and backed by science corroborating seaweed’s efficacy in facial and body care. Kempinski The Spa is the first and only spa in Hungary that uses VOYA’s sustainable luxury products and spa therapies.
Under the guidance of designer Krisztina Kováts of Haken Design, the Spa’s refreshed space reflects our fundamental desire to travel and discover. ‘Everything is a journey’, she explains. ‘It only takes a moment to turn the most mundane weekday into a journey around the world. As we style our home, we travel. We design worlds in every corner and, at the same time, imperceptibly create the warmth that home means.’
The Kempinski Hotel Corvinus’ Japandi-style 700-suite won the title of "Klasszis TopDesign Guest Room, Suite of the Year - Capital City 2025"
The design competition, which addresses domestic hospitality professionals, hoteliers, and designers, was held on November 25, 2025. Klasszis TopDesign 2025 is the only international-level competition in Hungary that comprehensively approaches design and special solutions, and evaluates all areas of it within the catering and hotel industry.
Designed in a serene Japandi style, Suite No. 700, part of the Corvinus Art Collection Suites, stands out with its fluid, curved features. The suite’s new décor harmoniously blends shades of grey and terracotta, complementing natural materials such as oak and stone. The rounded contours of the circular space, framed by a bay-view window, seamlessly extend into the soft, curved furnishings, including an oval desk, subtle wave patterns on the individually painted walls and bespoke designs of the sofa, bed and cupboards.
The large, irregularly shaped mirror enhances the sense of space, while light fabric-effect wallpaper and coordinated curtains echo the carpet and upholstered furniture. Upon entering, attention is immediately drawn to the signature striped armchair with its matching floor lamp and the curved sofa set against an individually styled console table that subtly divides the space. The vases atop this table feature organic, wavy forms.
Hidden LED lighting throughout the suite creates a warm ambience, with ceiling lamps resembling delicate golden threads adorned with tiny bulbs that emit a soft glow.
The glasswork invites natural light into the luxurious bathroom, enhancing its appealing atmosphere. It boasts a freestanding bathtub with a recessed shelf behind it, where LED lighting creates a sleek design.
Completing the suite’s ambience is the impressive painting ‘Aiorganic 2’ by Hungarian artist Gábor Krüzsely, perfectly complementing the interior reminiscent of a modern apartment.
