Our Hot Topic conference about the space industry business at HUN-REN Headquarters brought together leaders, innovators, and experts to explore one of the most dynamic and forward-looking sectors: the space industry. ![]()
A sincere thank you to all our speakers, panelists, and participants for joining us — and for raising important questions: Can newcomers break into the space industry? How long does it take? And is it truly worth the investment?
Throughout the morning, one message came through loud and clear:
Cooperation is not optional — it’s essential. Whether between countries, industries, research institutions, or startups, collaboration is the launchpad for meaningful progress in space.
Only France and Sweden currently have the infrastructure in place to launch satellites into space — a unique advantage in Europe that underscores the importance of international partnerships and shared capabilities.
We were honored to hear from:
Dr. Orsolya Ferencz, Ministerial Commissioner for Space Research, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade – on HUNOR Hungarian Astronaut Program and growing global role.
Dr. Renata Papp MD PhD, Director, Vice-Rectorate for Science, Innovation and Business Development, Semmelweis University – on how space and health innovation reinforce each other.
Szabolcs S., Deputy State Secretary for Technology, Space Industry and Defence Industry, Ministry for National Economy – on industrial policy and economic perspectives, highlighting the Space Insider Platform.
Dr. István Sárhegyi, CEO, 4iG Space and Defence Technologies – on the HUSAT Program and 4iG’s space and defence activities.
Our panel of entrepreneurs and experts — Bella Szabolcs (Aedus Space Kft.), Zoltán Hafner (Remred), Prof. Dr. Péter Galambos (Óbuda University), Roland Jakab (HUN-REN), György Nagy (Sigma Technology Hungary) and Kristóf Molnár (Design Terminal) and moderator László Károlyi (president of CCIFH) — shared candid insights on entering and scaling in the space sector.
